Like most people I have my own set of favourite reference books that I use for planning my trips. I have relied on the following books for their guidance, advice and trip ideas and am sure my trips would not have been any where near as enjoyable without them.
- The Canadian Rockies Trail Guide by Brian Patton & Bart Robinson,
- Handbook of the Canadian Rockies by Ben Gadd,
- Kananaskis Country Trail Guide (Volume 1 & 2) by Gillean Daffern and
- Fly Fishing the Canadian Rockies by Joey Ambrosi.
Here are some links to get you started:
| When it comes to wilderness adventure there is only one store, and this is it. While some stores may occasionally beat their prices, I have yet to find a store (online or physical) that provides the expertise, selection and pricing that mec offers. | |||
| This one stop website will help you find a canoe trip suitable for your skill level and objectives. The canoe trip descriptions are second to none and provide very accurate and detailed descriptions of every major rapid and portage on the route. I would have been lost (literally) without these phenomenal guides. | |||
| Parks Canada's website contains a wealth of information about Canada's national park system. This is a great starting point in getting general and very specific information about each of Canada's National Parks. | |||
| Information about Alberta's Provincial Parks. | |||
| Information about BC's Provincial Parks. | |||
| Emergency Phone List. | |||
| Other useful resources and links. | |||
